15 Things To Do To Recharge Your Adrenal Glands Naturally:
Our adrenal glands are responsible for the production of more than 50 essential hormones. We rely on these hormones to maintain our vitality and overall good health. Being overstressed mentally, emotionally, and physically can cause our adrenal glands to work overtime and eventually “fatigue and crash.”
Many times, this condition can be misdiagnosed by the medical field that routinely ignores research that indicates - infections, nutrient deficiency, allergies, ingestion of toxins, and leaky gut syndrome as possible causes. Addressing adrenal fatigue naturally may help your situation.
1. Hydrate Your Body. Keep your body well hydrated by drinking half your body weight in ounces of distilled or R/O water with a pinch of pink salt per gallon throughout the day. Carry your filtered water in a plastic resin inner liner free insulated stainless-steel flask or glass container. Our body depends on clean water for survival and needs it to regulate stress hormone production and maintain healthy adrenal function.
2. Get Enough Iodine, Zinc, Magnesium, and Vitamins. Eat grass fed, pasture raised hormone-free meats and organic pesticide-free vegetables to be sure you’re getting enough vitamins, magnesium, iodine, and zinc. These are essential for adrenal healing, stress relief, and relaxation. If you can’t find good clean organic food locally try shopping online.
3. Eat Anti-Inflammatory foods. Maintain a healthy organic diet to combat and prevent inflammation with high-quality proteins, antioxidants, phytonutrients, fibers, and good saturated fats. Avoid inflammatory Lectins, Nightshades, and uncooked Goitrogenic vegetables. Always choose organic products (preferably in glass) whenever possible.
4. Get Some Natural Vitamin D. Make natural vitamin D with the sun’s ultraviolet rays. Get at least an hour per week of exposure to allow the adrenal glands to recharge and heal faster. Prevent overexposure by using protective clothing and non-toxic sun blocking lotion after the first 30 to 60 minutes of direct sunshine.
5. Breathe Deeply. Close your eyes and focus on deep and controlled breathing to relax your mind and release physical and emotional tension. Maintaining good posture when sitting, standing, and walking will reduce body stress and help make your relaxation efforts more effective.
6. Ground Your Body. New research indicates that grounding your body by walking barefoot daily, whether on grass, sand or dirt will neutralize and discharge the harmful electromagnetic frequencies your body is exposed to on a daily basis.
7. Avoid Caffeine, Alcohol, and Sugar. The adrenal glands work harder when we consume caffeine, alcohol, and sugar in any amount. The continuous use of these products without a break can stress the adrenals and contribute to adrenal fatigue. They also affect blood sugar levels which depend on the adrenal glands for maintenance.
8. Use Adrenal Boosting Organic Essential Oils. Certain organic essential oils applied directly to the skin or warmed in a glass vaporizer can help with adrenal fatigue and promote relaxation. For best results, use organic vanilla, lavender, lemon balm, rose, chamomile, frankincense, and rosemary.
9. Get Proper Sleep. We all need regular sleep each night for the proper functioning of our mind and body. Lack of sleep stresses your adrenals and can lead to poor physical and mental health. Make sure your bedroom is pitch black and is a microwave free sanctuary. If possible take a 20min power nap during the day, preferably between the hours of 12:00 to 3:00 p.m.
10. Perform Low-Intensity Exercises. Having adrenal fatigue can generate an overwhelming feeling of wanting to be inactive. Even managing to do a bit of walking or light cycling each day will help lower inflammation and stress levels.
11. Listen to Relaxing Music. For centuries music has been known to be a great healer of mind and body. While resting your adrenals avoid listening to loud, fast music that can over stimulate your mind. Instead choose relaxing, soothing music that will lower your stress levels and reduce anxiety.
12. Enjoy Downtime. Take time away from your busy schedule to experience things you enjoy. Read a book, take a nap, spend time sitting in a park, play with a pet or watch a movie. Avoid things that can cause stress or stimulate extreme emotions such as sadness, anger, or fear.
13. Have a Bath in Plain Epsom Salts. Add plain Epsom salts to a warm bath to absorb the magnesium and sulfur that support the adrenal glands and help to detoxify the liver. They also help detoxify your bath by binding and neutralizing the fluoride and other toxins in the tub water. Set the stage for a relaxing bath by playing soft music, vaporizing organic oils and lighting unscented lead-free wick candles.
14. Stretch. Light body movement is a great adrenal fatigue remedy. Perform yoga or Tai Chi movements or light stretching to perfect breathing techniques and stimulate endorphins.
15. Keep a Journal. Many people find it helpful to write down their inner thoughts as a way to reduce stress. Use this method to record new information, track your health progress and express the things for which you are thankful.
